The old mill depicted on the Mill Road label was established in the 1870’s near the banks of the Ngaruroro River. Situated just ten kilometers north of Te Mata Peak, Mill Road captures the essence of Hawke’s Bay. Aromas of citrus, toffee apple and rock melon. Subtle oak adds a cashew complexity. This wine is freshly textured, with great length and a mineral complexity.
This wine is from Chardonnay grapes grown in our Kinross and Riverview vineyards in Hawkes Bay. The grapes for this wine were harvested and transported to our Riverview winery. The fruit was pressed into stainless steel tanks. A combination of tank and barrel ferments using a range of yeast strains including PDM, VL1 and Maurivin “Fusion”. Following fermentation the wine was inoculated for malolactic fermentation. The wine was then transferred to our Katikati winery for finishing and bottling.
