Inspired by the neighbouring Pacific Islands, this wine range compliments the abundance of fresh fruit and fish the islands are famous for.
The label features a Nikau Palm which is endemic to New Zealand.
This wine is a bright ruby red. Complex aromas of stewed plums and dark cherry with spicy oak. On the palate cherry and plum are supported by silky smooth tannins. The finish is long and delicious. This wine is drinking well now but can be cellared.
This wine is from grapes grown in our Kuranui vineyard in the Awatere Valley sub-region of Marlborough. The Pinot Noir grapes were harvested at our Kuranui Vineyard and transported to our Riverview winery and fermented in stainless steel tanks. Following pressing the wine was aged for 6 months in used French oak. 100% malolactic fermentation was carried out in barrel. The wine was then transported to our Katikati winery where it was finished including blending with a small component of Hawkes Bay Syrah and Merlot.
