The Riverview vines are grown on the stony silt gravels laid down over the centuries by the shifting currents of the Ngaruroro River. Not only are these soils free draining and low yielding soils, they retain the heat of the day which allows these soils to produce excellent Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot fruit from this cool climate.Enquire Now
Deep red in colour and brooding in the glass. Aromas of blackberry, and cassis, with hints of leather and game. This wine has a real elegance to match it's masculinity, long smooth tannins, ripe dark fruits and seamlessly integrated oak from a long maturation. Truly delicious.
This wine is from grapes grown in our Tantallon vineyard in the Hawke’s Bay.
The grapes for this wine were harvested and transported to our Riverview winery. The fruit was pressed into stainless steel fermentation vessels and inoculated with a range of yeast strains.
Following fermentation, the wine was inoculated for Malolactic fermentation and run off to barrel for maturation. The wine spent around 3 years in oak before being blended and tankered to our Katikati winery for finishing and bottling.
