We are so excited to announce that our Falconhead Viognier 2020 won the Corban’s Nurseries Trophy for Champion Other White Varieties at the Royal Easter Show Wine Awards 2021. This amazing achievement comes after winning the Gold Award in the Royal Easter Show last month.

This wine really is a team effort as with all our wines. I’d like to thank Fiona and John, the Director and Owner of the company, our viticulture manager, Pete Scott, and our Winemakers, Hamish Binns and Luke Miller – who have a combined experience of 35 years in the company, so that’s a lot of experience to draw on.
This wine came from a trying vintage 2020, as far as Covid restrictions go, and everyone had a bit of a tough time with the harvest for this vintage. But it was a really fantastic vintage for our wines, especially in Hawke’s Bay and particularly this parcel of Viognier. We are really proud of our Viogniers at The Wine Portfolio.”
