Leveret Reserve Marlborough Pinot Noir 2015

$19.99$114.00 inc GST

The Leveret brand is a descendant of the award-winning Coniglio range. The word “leveret” means young hare, three of which can be found dancing on the bottle’s label. The ears of the hares connect creating a triangular symbol that was used by the tin merchants of Devon, traders on the Silk Road.

With it’s own sense of history, and coming from an up-standing family, we’re excited to present a premium and reserve option for the Leveret brand.

Complex aromas of ripe dark and red fruits with earthy, forest floor notes and a splash of subtle sweet oak. The palate is soft and juicy with fine, dusty tannins and great richness of flavour. This wine is drinking well now but will cellar for at least another 10 years and beyond.

    Vineyards and Winemaking

This wine is from grapes grown in our Kuranui vineyard in the Awatere Valley, Marlborough. The grapes for this wine were harvested and transported to our Riverview winery in Hawke’s Bay. The fruit was pressed into stainless steel fermentation vessels and inoculated with a range of yeast strains but principally RC212. Following fermentation, the wine was inoculated for malolactic fermentation and run off to barrel for maturation. The wine spent around 12 months in oak before being blended and transported by road tanker to our Katikati winery for finishing and bottling.
